A classic high-performance fluoropolymer known for extreme chemical inertness and wide temperature resistance, often called "Teflon" (a brand name). Used in seals, gaskets, non-stick coatings, chemical processing components, and electrical insulation.

• Melting point: ~327°C; Tg: ~-19°C 
• Processable & durable: Typically processed via compression/molding (not melt-processable like thermoplastics), with excellent wear resistance for seals and bearings
• Extreme chemical resistance: Inert to nearly all acids, bases, solvents 
• Low permeability: Minimizes gas/moisture transfer
• Dimensional stability: Low thermal expansion (-200°C to 260°C) for precision parts
• Excellent insulation: Outstanding dielectric properties  for high-voltage/ high-frequency electronics
